Is it possible to have a credit score without having had a credit card?

This is because i’m just 19 years old and in my second year of college, so I was just wondering, becuase I am planning on applying for a credit card soon. P.S.- Do any of you know whats a good credit card for first-time soon-to-be credit card holders?
