It tends to require a lot more investment in time to do even simple things like crafting. Everquest 2 is another popular game, though I've never played it myself. There's also Star Wars Galaxies, although I've been told it's pretty dead recently. City of Heroes is a pretty unique take on the genre, and it's got a cool hook to it.
