You can only wear cloth, but you can try doing different things with a warlock so you dont get killed as much
Whenever you kill a creature, stand as far back as you can, since your a caster. Doing this, you should throw your DoTS up (dmg over tiem, corruption, curse of agony etc etc) then you’ll be able to shoot this creature with two shadow bolts, and then start casting a wand at him (found in your auction house of your major cities).
Also it might help to check out the auction house to grab a few green items (uncommon items) around your level.
As a warlock you’ll want to go with items that have stamina and intellect.

Warlocks may only learn the armor value of, Cloth.
The cloth users are commonly the biggest damagers throughout the game.
The leather users are commonly damage-per-second also.
The mail users are commonly damage-per-second also, and tanks (the person who takes damage).
The plate users are the same as above.
The level of armor you can wear is directly limited by your class. Warlocks are limited to cloth, but at level 10 get the ability to summon a servant who fight in melee and can tank for you.
You can only wear cloth but this means nothing about how much damage you can do….rogues, warriors, and hunters can do just as much if not more damage then warlocks, it just means you have other methods of defense like your pets.
Warlocks can only wear cloth. They can never wear leather, mail, or plate armor, sorry.
