Legendary items are Orange in color. http://www.wowwiki.com/Legendary_items has a list of all of the items. There are presently only 5 available to players, a 2h mace, 1h sword, paired daggers and a bow.
Currently there are also “Legacy” items which are Gold in color, which are bind on account, but are not at the same power level are the Legendary items at their level.
There is speculation an additional Legendary weapon will be available in an upcoming patch focused on the legend of the Ashbringer.

Legendary items(orange) but they are very rare. Only maybe 4-6 real ones exist that you can still obtain. Also consider that these legendaries are level 70- items. That means that they aren’t all that great at the moment seeing as the level cap is 80. But yeah, if you 25-man raid, then I’d assume Blizzard would be adding legendaries to the level 80 25-man content soon.
Things that are better than Epic I think is Legendary (Bind on Account) and Tier pieces.
Yes. Level 80 Rares are better then elvel 70 epics :p
