I’m trying to down load the lightheaded addon for wow. I’ve done it the exact way they said. Download it to desktop, extract files put in the addon file in the wow folder, My path matches exactly the way it’s supposed to but it doesn’t show up on the addon list from the character screen. It worked fine with questhelper, but this is causing issues lol Please help, I miss my Lightheaded!!

First, check to make sure it’s in the Add-on folder. Just putting it into your WoW folder will not work. (The Add-on folder is a sub-folder in your Interface folder, which in turn is a sub-folder of your WoW folder.)
Once you do that, it should appear in your add-ons when you click the button in the lower left of your character screen. From there you can enable or disable it.
If my advice doesn’t work, I would recommend asking again at the official WoW tech support forums. They are better equipped to help you there than Y!A is.
Does the add-on show up Add On management? With all the updates lately, some of the add-ons require you selecting to load out of date add-ons. I don’t remember if Light Headed was updated to list as compatible with the latest patch.- .
If not a simple “out of date” add-on problem, you may want to check that the Light Headed folder is setup with the same permission as other add-ons. My son’s PC login account sometimes has problems accessing the folder when I install the add-ons with my account (gotta love that Vista doesn’t always pickup the “inherit parent folder” permissions, at least it seems that way).
@ Liam – While I can appreciate that you enjoy playing the game in a more pure form, for many players, the real excitement of the game comes from raiding at the maximum level. I played my first character up to about level 50 without add-ons to help with questing. I did do some Thottbot lookups for the harder to complete quest. What I found most annoying out of all of it was that I leveled so slow compared to a majority of the server and I had hard times finding people to run instances with. Everyone was racing to get to the high end game content. While I enjoy the questing and story behind the game, I’ll take the assistance when it points me to the grind of killing # mobs for
Dont worry about it, addons are for sissies who need a program to tell them how to play the game. Real players buy the game and pay a monthly fee to actually play the game itself.
